The North Port Amateur Radio Club
Our club was formed back in 2003, and though our membership is small, we all have a common goal. The enjoyment of Amateur Radio. We are an affiliated club of the ARRL, and many of our members are Volunteer Examiners, and periodically give classes for new comers and those who want to upgrade. For more information on testing check the events calendar.
We have many amateur Radio events every year including National Field Day sponsored by the ARRL, and our Veterans Day Special Event station.
Our club has several nets every week. Our Tuesday Night net, every Tuesday rain or shine at 8:00pm. Frequency 147.120 and a PL of 136.5 Hz is required. We also have a 40 Meter net, every Thursday at 8:0pm on 7.203 (sometimes +/- 5 QC depending in noise) Both Nets, all are welcome, and you do not need to be a member.
We also have an eyeball QSO, every Wednesday at 9:00am at Abbee’s Donuts, located at 13625 Tamiami Trail, North Port. It is on the intersection of US41 and Biscayne Blvd. During season, it is recommended that you bring your own chair.
Our club membership is open to all who are interested in Amateur Radio as a hobby. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month, at 7:00pm, at the main North Port Fire and Rescue Station. Located at 4280 City Center Blvd, North Port Florida. Our Mailing address is P.O. BOX 7716 North Port FL 34286.
